Лиллиан Дайана Гиш — американская актриса, кинорежиссёр и сценарист с 75-летней кинокарьерой . Была популярной кинозвездой с 1912 года до конца 1920-х, особенно в связи с ролями в фильмах Дэвида У. Гриффита, в том числе сыграла главную роль в самом кассовом фильме эпохи немого кино — «Рождение нации» . Сестра актрисы Дороти Гиш. В раннем возрасте дебютировала в театре, где, как и её сестра, играла детские роли в пьесах мелодраматического содержания. По рекомендации Мэри Пикфорд, их театральной подруги, с которой они гастролировали по США, в 1912-м году сестёр снял в своём фильме «Невидимый враг» Дэвид Уорк Гриффит.
